Bismarck State College announces the President's Honor Roll for the Spring 2020 semester.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Two Bismarck State College Cybersecurity students scored perfectly on the TestOut Security Pro Certification Exam and the BSC Cybersecurity program had a 95 percent pass rate for those students taking the examination, well above the recent national average of 66 percent.

Because of their exceptionally high scores on Microsoft Office Specialist exams, two Bismarck State College students have been named North Dakota Microsoft Office Specialist champions and selected to compete in the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in June 2021.

More than 600 high school students from North Dakota and South Dakota kick started their beyond at Bismarck State College while still in high school through the BSC Early Entry program in Spring 2020. Early Entry allows high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to take college courses and receive college credit, which also may be used to meet their high school graduation requirements.

Bismarck State College Cybersecurity and Computer Networks student, Riley Mueller, was a top 10 finisher in the first Palo Alto Networks Secure the Future Competition - a grueling months-long national competition against dozens of cybersecurity students from universities across the nation. Other finalists came from four-year universities like Ball State University, Murray State University and East Carolina University. Additionally, the sophomore was one of five finalists to land a prestigious paid summer internship at Palo Alto Networks corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif.

In a digital world where virtually all content can be consumed from any device at any time, and where social media is the mecca for Generation Z, the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) is the Rolls Royce of events for students applying cyber skills that protect the world's devices and information. Bismarck State College's team proved their cyber savvy in February by qualifying to compete in the 2020 regional event, a path to nationals.

More than 620 students graduated from Bismarck State College after completing the Spring 2019 semester. The college's 79th commencement ceremony was held on May 10, 2019 at the Bismarck Event Center.

Five Bismarck State College Engineering Technology students were recently chosen to attend the Frontier Precision North Dakota User Group Forum and the North Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors (NDSPLS) 40th Annual Convention.

A team of North Dakota students - four from Bismarck State College and four from the University of Mary - teamed up to compete for the first time in the North Central Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition March 23-24, in Madison, S.D.. The students, with the assistance of advisors from multiple state agencies, placed third during the event.
