Two Bismarck State College (BSC) competed at the Future Business Leaders of America, Inc.'s (FBLA) Collegiate National Leadership Conference (NLC), held June 24-27, 2024, in Orlando, Fla. The NLC provides education, competition, and networking opportunities centered on business for college students.

The College Media Association recently recognized two Bismarck State College students for their remarkable work. Kaia Lehman and Seth Iverson each received a Pinnacle College Media Award during the 2023 Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association Fall National College Media Convention.

Six Bismarck State College students competed in business-related competitions during the 53rd Annual ND Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate State Leadership Conference held March 26-27, 2023 in Mandan, N.D.

Because of their exceptionally high scores on Microsoft Office Specialist exams, four Bismarck State College students have been named North Dakota Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) champions and selected to compete in the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in June 2023.

A team of Bismarck State College (BSC) Cybersecurity students has placed 84th out of 3,658 teams at the National Cyber League, a virtual cyber competition, placing them in the top 2 percent in the nation.

Because of their exceptionally high scores on Microsoft Office Specialist exams, five Bismarck State College students have been named North Dakota Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) champions and selected to compete in the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in June 2022.

In a digital world where virtually all content can be consumed from any device at any time, and where social media is the mecca for Generation Z, the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) is the Rolls Royce of events for students applying cyber skills that protect the world's devices and information. Bismarck State College's team proved their cyber savvy in February by qualifying to compete in the 2020 regional event, a path to nationals.

Bismarck State College Cybersecurity and Computer Networks student, Riley Mueller, was a top 10 finisher in the first Palo Alto Networks Secure the Future Competition - a grueling months-long national competition against dozens of cybersecurity students from universities across the nation. Other finalists came from four-year universities like Ball State University, Murray State University and East Carolina University. Additionally, the sophomore was one of five finalists to land a prestigious paid summer internship at Palo Alto Networks corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif.

Because of their exceptionally high scores on Microsoft Office Specialist exams, two Bismarck State College students have been named North Dakota Microsoft Office Specialist champions and selected to compete in the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship in June 2021.

A team of North Dakota students - four from Bismarck State College and four from the University of Mary - teamed up to compete for the first time in the North Central Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition March 23-24, in Madison, S.D.. The students, with the assistance of advisors from multiple state agencies, placed third during the event. Two BSC students were recognized as being named Phi Beta Lambda Chapter National Qualifiers when Bismarck State College celebrated its scholars and outstanding students at the 48th annual Student Recognition Ceremony April 19, 2017 in the Bavendick Stateroom of the BSC National Energy Center of Excellence.

A team of students from Bismarck State College (BSC) took first place in a regional competition through the International Society of Automation (ISA).
