Kathryn Gerving earns national surgical technologist certification

Kathryn Gerving, New Salem, N.D., has passed the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) exam. The CST designation is the foremost credential for surgical technologists in the nation and required for employment at many local, state and national health care organizations. Gerving is a 2016 graduate of the Bismarck State College Surgical Technology program. Graduates obtaining national certification demonstrate basic competence for safe patient care in the operating room.

The Surgical Technology program at BSC achieved a 100 percent pass rate in the most recent national CST exam cycle. This is the eighth straight year the Surgical Technology program has earned a 100 percent pass rate.
